Gentle Reader,
Capt. Billy has returned. We were both very happy to see each other. I arrived at the airport on time with a slice of pizza as I thought he might be hungry. Rambo....pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives. Upon returning to the Marina my access fob at the entrance gate did not work and it was unusually dark. Billy knows of a fob trick and the gate still would not rise and then he notices that someone has literally crashed through the gate to exit. This event also darkened the marina by knocking out the power. Chuck the marina manager is known for an infamously short temper and he would be on the warpath. It was decided that we had seen nothing and let the security cameras show what they will. Billy was, much to my surprise, very pleased by the appearance of his girl. We had battery power running a light and a battery operated Coleman lantern providing a low but warm illumination. Even in the low light he was pleased and expressed his satisfaction.
He told me that he had bought me birthday present on the mainland. My birthday is in October but that fact seemed of little comcern. He was so excited he disappeared below and presented me with a large heavy box. It was my own safe. It is made by Honeywell and anyone knowing my father in life knew he was a lifer there and proud to be. It was a gun safe and I then realized why carrying a piece of his luggage from the baggage claim to the car was such a hump. I was both pleased and honored. I told him that I did my best to struggle about here in his absence. He said he knew that I would have a great time and that his friends would take good care of me. That was an understatement. I feel like I already have a lifetime of stories from this week alone. There is much yet to do before our departure and time is not on our side. Until next time.
